Wismilak and Koding Akademi Build Digital Literacy

Wismilak Foundation and Koding Akademi have been strengthening the digital literacy of Indonesian students through a sustainable CSR program since 2023, focusing on coding and robotics. This initiative aims to equip the younger generation with 21st-century skills through an applicable curriculum, ranging from basic logic introduction to the development of independent technology projects across various school levels.

A Journey of Digital Education Innovation Since 2023

This CSR program is clear evidence that introducing technology at an early age is crucial for a child's future. Starting in 2023, this collaboration focused on building a strong foundation for thinking.

Early Stages: Introducing Computational Logic in Elementary Schools

In its first year, Koding Akademi reached nine elementary schools to introduce the concept of Computational Thinking. Students were taught systematic thinking and coding basics using fun and engaging methods. This approach proved effective in stimulating student interest, as technology was no longer seen as something complicated, but rather as an educational medium for play.

Expanding Reach and Material Diversity in 2024

Seeing the success of the inaugural year, the program expanded significantly in 2024. Its reach grew to include fourteen elementary schools, one junior high school, and one senior high school. Koding Akademi developed more interactive and collaborative materials, aligning with the need for 21st Century Skills, including creativity and teamwork. In this phase, students were encouraged to be more active in discussions and solve technological challenges in groups.

Project-Based Approaches and Competition Preparation

Entering 2025, the program moved into a more technical and results-oriented deepening phase.

Focus on Tech Solutions and Competition Mentoring

Activities are now centered in six elementary and six junior high schools using the Project-Based Learning method. Students do not just learn theory; they create simple solutions through coding and robotics. Additionally, four selected schools received intensive mentoring for competition preparation. This process is vital for building self-confidence and training students' consistency in developing competitive works.

Instilling Problem-Solving Skills and Creativity

Through workshops designed by Koding Akademi, technology is now viewed by students as a productive tool for creation. Problem-solving ability has become the primary value gained by participants—a skill cited as one of the most needed in future economic reports.
